SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro10 is a high-quality RAW development software launched in 2004, the newest edition of SILKYPIX series.This product is equipped with a new function for compositing multiple RAWs which enables the user a previously unprecedented level of creative photographic expression.The latest transformative enhancement to the software’s capabilites is the "Fine detail" mode which enables the optimal noise reduction.In addition, the "Select" section, which enables high-speed display of a large number of high-resolution images, has been added to further improve the user experience (UX).SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro10 is a product that is suitable for the “10” of the SILKYPIX series.
What’s New in SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro10
Compositing function that enable impressive image quality and artistic rendering
Selected images can be composited and saved to DNG or TIFF(16bit) formats.You can choose from the following six composition modes, depending on the desired photo representation.Since this function automatically aligns images according to our image coincidence detection technology (patent No. 4689758), it is possible to combine them without any shift even with hand-held shooting.
- 1. Multiple exposure
- The image to be composed is treated equally and the result is the same as for a multiple exposure with a camera.Combine multiple images shot together during the same scene to create highly detailed and realistic images much more effectively than with normal noise reduction.
- 2. Multiple exposure (night view)
- Noise reduction and saturation for nightscapes, and black-level compositing are performed.This mode allows you to create a long-exposure, beautiful night scenes from multiple images taken hand-held shooting.
- 3. Lighten composite
- Compares the selected images while giving priority to the lighter areas of each image.For example, by compositing multiple images from an entire night of fireworks, you can layer these together to create a single image featuring an even larger launch of fireworks.
- 4. Moving object removal
- Removes moving subjects from multiple images of the same shooting scene and combines them into a single image.For example, by compositing multiple images of a busy intersections filled with pedestrians, you can create an image of an empty intersection that no one is walking across.
- 5. Stroboscopic motion
- Composites a moving subject from multiple images in the same scene.You can finish your strobe as a sequence image that appears to emit light continuously in the dark to express the movement.
- 6. Depth of field composite
- By compositing images with different focus positions from the front to the back, you can create an image with a wide range of focus.
"Fine detail" mode, which can be used to remove noise without losing sharpness
The new "Fine detail" mode has been added to the well-known SILKYPIX noise reduction.Normally, sharpening effectiveness is reduced when noise reduction is heavily applied. However, the Fine detail mode can perform calculation processing taking into account a wider range of complex pixel areas than ever before.For this reason, we have been able to achieve strong noise reduction while maintaining detailed descriptions and a sharp feel.It is also equipped with the "Standard" mode that is equivalent to the conventional noise reduction effect.So, you can use the Standard mode of noise reduction on the situation, such as when images that don’t care too much about noise and when processing time is a priority, and so on.
Adopts section switching in the main window
You can now switch the display of the main window to three sections.Three sections: the Select section for selecting images, the Adjustment section for correcting and adjusting images, and the Print section for configuring print settings while viewing printed results.Workflow efficiency is improved with the optimum display according to the work.
The "Select" section, which can also display large amounts of RAW images at high speed
In recent years, as the frequency in use as well as the pixels of digital cameras increase, many people find it difficult to switch between images smoothly and efficiently at the images display speeds of personal computers.With SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro10, you can quickly view and switch between images by creating the new Select section that allows you to select your favorite images or images from larger collections that may need adjustments.The Select section uses the preview images (thumbnails) included in the image data*1for high-speed display.Easily apply Marks and Ratings in the Select section.

The print settings of the previous SILKYPIX series were made in the dialog box.SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro10 features the new Print section which allows you to review the final image and designate the print settings.
Add "Blur" to the Partial correction tool
You can now blur a select area specified with the Partial correction tool.Depending on the shooting scene, blurring the background manually with the slider adjusts the blur and feather intensity to create an impressive image.It can also help protect your privacy by blurring the face of a person or the license plate tag of a car.

The "Perspective correction tool" is added to the Rotation/Shift lens effect.If you have taken a photograph of a building with a wide-angle lens, you can intuitively use the Vertical/Horizontal correction tool on the preview to correct the perspective of interest.
Enhance the Blurred/sharp periphery
Add "Linear" to the Blurred/sharp periphery type.Linear allows you to apply a gradual blur to the image in the up, down, left, right, or diagonal direction.By using the linear blur effect to render the perspective unnatural compared to the actual scene, you can easily create a diorama or miniature-photo effect.
Add the "Negative film inversion tool" that is useful for archiving films
The Negative film inversion tool allows you to easily convert negative images of important photographs taken in the past into positive images.With the Negative film inversion tool, you can click on the unexposed part to convert to a positive image in one go.After converting, you can adjust exposure, white balance, etc. like other images. *2
